In this article, Caroline Fallon, a Complementary Therapist at The Hope Street Centre will be discussing the benefits of reflexology in helping to alleviate and manage stress for men and women in the workplace.
I know a number of reflexologists who have offered onsite treatments to staff in larger organisations, including Marks & Spencer, Leighton Hospital and John Lewis… however, what about smaller companies who may need help?
Such treatments can be offered as benefits to staff, that in turn can increase their overall morale and job satisfaction, which ultimately increases productivity. A small investment can produce great benefits in any organisation.
As an employer, you may want to help reduce sickness and absenteeism, and there is evidence of large organisations in Denmark where reflexology has had a direct impact on their bottom line. Odense Post Office has employed a full-time reflexologist since 1990, reportedly saving around £100,000 a year due to a 13.3% reduction in sickness and absentiseeism. SAS Cargo estimated a financial saving of £2,000 a month when employees were receiving reflexology.
During World reflexology Awareness Week I will be helping to improve the lives of people in Sandbach by taking a good look at their feet! You may wonder why feet have much to do with health, being stuck down there, and quite often 'stuffed' into uncomfortable shoes?! Ouch!! In fact, they can usually reveal quite a lot about your general health when you take a little time to come and put your feet up!
The whole body is 'reflected' in the feet, rather like a mini-map of the body, so we work the feet to bring more of a balance to the rest of you.
If you haven't discovered already how this relaxing and gentle treatment is, now is your chance to try a shortened reflexology 'taster' for £10 here in The Hope Street Centre during 18th - 25th September. A 'stress-ease' pack will be available when you book. For any person involved in personnel who would like further information, or a short talk to staff and managers, this can also be arranged.
Regular reflexology may give pain relief for stress related conditions, such as headaches and back pain, but also help to speed recovery from a wide range of acute and chronic illnesses. Evidence also suggests that reflexology can enhance concentration and efficiency at work.
Let The Hope Street Centre be a quiet place offering treatments in the centre of Sandbach.
