Relationship Counselling
In relationship counselling both partners work with a counsellor to deal with problems that are affecting the relationship. These can include issues such as work, finances, children, family and emotional problems. Any type of relationship can benefit from relationship counselling, irrespective of marital status, age, sexual orientation or race. Sessions last an hour and normally take place once a week. There is no limit to the number of sessions - some couples only require a few weeks while others may stay for much longer. For futher information contact Maurice Tomkinson.
Child and Young Person Counselling
For many reasons it can be difficult for children, young people and sometimes adults to express in words what they are experiencing emotionally and physically. A natural and fun way of working on difficulties is through play. Mediums such as drawing, dough, sand, figures and games, can offer a gentle yet powerful way of releasing the inner turmoil and finding positive ways forward.

Triple 'P' Positive Parenting Programme
Parents have the important role of raising the next generation, yet most of us begin our parenting careers unprepared for what lies ahead. Parenting can be demanding, frustrating and exhausting. The challenge for all parents is to raise healthy, well-adjusted children in a loving, predictable environment.
Triple 'P' aims to make parenting easier, more enjoyable and more rewarding through offering suggestions and ideas via the programmes resources and strategies to help parents develop a positive relationship with their child/children and subsequently help their child's/children's healthy emotional, social and intellectual development; thereby preventing more serious behavioural problems in later life.
It is recognised that individual families have their own set of values, skills and needs. Throughout the programme the parent/carer remains the expert on their own child, it is the practitioners role to support them in bringing about the changes they want to make in their child's undesirable behaviour.
Researched in Australia over 20 years the approach is based upon up-to-date knowledge, is internationally recognised and has been found useful by thousands of families.
There are currently five programmes available:
| Primary Care: Level 3 | Generally 4 sessions of half an hour on an individual basis. Designed as a brief, early intervention strategy. |
| Group (6 people) Level 4 | Generally 8 sessions: 5 sessions of 2 hours within group plus three individual supportive telephone calls. For parents of children with established unwanted behaviour. |
| Standard Level 4 | Generally 10 sessions of one hour on an individual basis. For parents of children with established and severe behavioural difficulties. |
| Stepping Stones Level 4 | Generally 10 sessions of one hour on an individual basis. For parents of children with 'special needs'. |
| Enhanced Level 5 | Generally offered over 4 sessions of up to 90 minutes on an individual basis, to both parents/carers. This enhanced level bolts on to previous levels where additional support is required to refine parenting skills and address family adversity factors such as parental depression, stress and relationship conflict. |
| Teen | Similar to Group or Standard as above but for teenagers |
